“Everything in nature invites us constantly to be what we are.”
– Gretel Ehrlich
We are part of nature. However, our society often severs us from this understanding, seeing nature as a resource and not an intrinsic part of us. Technology, consumerism, limiting beliefs, cultural stereotypes of ‘Tree Huggers’ Hippies, the persecution of Witches and Animist Beliefs in the past Even our language has evolved through time to separate us further from the nature within.
Often society makes it easy to understand the difficulties that come from losing a limb, grieving a loved one, suffering economic shock, yet our separation from nature is a human physiological loss in much the same way.
Unfortunately, society’s separation from nature is so endemic it’s hard to see. It’s not surprising, therefore, that we may find it difficult to understand why we can’t cope and sometimes find it impossible to recognise the source of our troubles.
All beings of nature experience shock and the need to adapt and change, our surroundings have had millennia of experience in doing this, so it’s hardly surprising that when we give ourselves time to look, touch, feel nature and see how it responds to challenges, there are often more answers than we first thought possible. Because we are intrinsically part of this world, we are born primed to access this communal learning.
“If one way be better than another, that you may be sure is nature’s way”
– Aristotle
Nature always chooses the path of less resistance and perhaps by tuning in to your animal core you may find yours. Let me help you experience coming home to nature at a deeper level. Discover feelings of belonging, gain your sense of place in nature and your purpose. Afford yourself the time to simply slow down, ponder your worldly connection and connect with the animal within.
What to expect
I combine a professional listening ear with knowledge of nature’s connections, exercises to help you focus and really look deeply into the larger than human world. Together we venture into a nurturing environment to help you find meaning and wonder. It’s a special time to help you self-reflect, re-frame everyday stresses, or have space to leave them behind. Using nature as our guide, I can help you find answers to pertinent questions, to stop intrusive thoughts, help with many feelings like grief, confusion, exhaustion and loss and to cope with change and loneliness.
